Property Division/Division of Debt or Liability

In divorce matters, the parties have accumulated assets (property, cash, business investments, stock, bonds etc.) during the marriage or in some cases debt or financial obligations. The first step in dividing property held by the parties is to determine whether the asset or liability is marital or non-marital. Once the assets and liabilities that are part of the marital estate is determined, the focus is then to determine the value of those assets or liabilities.

At Forsberg Law, we have significant experience on determining what should be included as marital assets or liabilities and then establishing those assets value and amount owed. We are seasoned negotiators and litigators that ensure the ultimate division of the martial estate is in line with the client’s objectives.
